On last Sat, I have been to the store of Machine-A which is a great store full of treasures.

Stavros Karelis also a creative director of the brand.
It have also moved their store from 60 Berwick Street to 13 Brewer Street.
The store is perceived as a store with London’s young design.
Working in the front line with emerging designers and outstanding talents.
They determine to stock for up trend talented young designers
and showcase their products in the store beneficial to support the young designers.

It performed energy and optimism as part of the London Fashion,
with selling the extraordinary and attractive items from plenty of outstanding, young, special brands.
An international e-commerce platform is also produced to support the retail store.

The modern and plain store interior makes the items stands out.

Books, look books and posters are being shown on the self in-store.

Items in-store are mostly new items that some of them are even hard to find in the UK.

Ashish SS16 at London Fashion Week

Ashish,
with the new idea of model "walking" in the SS16 London Fashion Week show,
has successfully drawn the audience's attention.
Models are being given a skateboard that they can play with
which is a relatively new idea for models in fashion shows.

The design of the brand this season with glitters and colours and the girliness
which the brand is trying to achieve.
And the playfulness concept of this season has been fully performed
with the use of models and props.

Male models are also being used to perform feminism,
which also can catch the eye of people and form topic for people to discuss.

Fashion Labour

Fashion Labour Shoot

The issue of ethnicity in fashion is quite serious nowadays,
so I would like to produce outcomes in relation to the fashion labour problem.

The concept of the hardness of the fashion labours have been brought out with this shoot.
I have used a Chinese and a Indian models to represent the fashion labours
that get low paid working 24/7 in the fashion clothing factory.

Wonderland Shoot

Wonderland Photo Shoot

Inspired by the movie 'Alice in the Wonderland' and 'Wonderland' series of Kirsty Mitchell,
I have produced a shoot with the concept of wonderland like scene.
From the beginning brainstorming concept until the photo shoot taking and post production,
I was taking part of the whole production.

Set decorations was used in the shoot this time to make the whole image more vivid and
more like a unreal place that you can only go in dreams.
The hair design and makeup is also the main elements that makes the model looks fairy-like.
Butterflies images are printed on tracing paper and paper flowers are sticked onto the face and hair of the model to achieve that feeling.

Hermes Fashion Show

Hermes

Autumn and Winter 14-15

Oversized coat is the trend of the winter fall of Hermes.
With the common usage winter colours,
with the help of the exaggerated proportions of coats and pants,
it created a luxury look.
It is creative to use stiff material to create the soft look coat,
and it is successful and wonderful.

I like the grey coat in the top left photo the most,
as it was simple designed but the overall shape is unusual.
The exaggerate coat modify the body shape to a taller one.
And the softness of the fabric makes a difference with
the overall shape of the coat comparing with the stiff one.

Paul Smith Exhibition

Hello, My Name Is Paul Smith

I had attended an exhibition, "Hello, My name is Paul Smith". The exhibition describes about the history of Paul Smith as a designer who gives his brand an identity.

The exhibits mainly follows the way that Paul Smith creates his brand. Starting with the photos of the inspiration ideas to the design of each session and the video about the process of the fashion show. I know a lot of the background ideas.

It is a meaningful exhibition to understand more about Paul Smith. For my essay, I do found a lot go useful information for my primary research.

Styling Photo Shoot: Voodoo

Voodoo

I have shooted my styling project of Voodoo style today. By the help the projector and a plain wall. I created a patterned background with the mood of voodoo. I used about 1hour for the make up and I made my own fade eye lashes by sticking the threads on the eye lashes.

As the concept of the photo shoot is black and evil, I have done many other things to achieve this photo shoot such as choosing the clothes for it. By preparing for the photo shoot, I enjoyed the process a lot.
